🚔 LEO SENTENCING RULES 🚔
Maximum Jail Time: 60 Months
Maximum Fine: Unlimited
Charge Stacking: ❌ NOT ALLOWED
⚖️ No Stacking Charges
Officers may not stack multiple charges for the same criminal act or incident simply to increase the suspect's total sentence or fine.
Each charge must represent a separate criminal offense or distinct criminal act.
📋 Example of Charge Stacking
INCIDENT:
A suspect pulls a gun on an officer and uses that same firearm during the confrontation.
❌ Incorrect — Stacking Charges:
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Brandishing a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm During a Crime
- Use of a Weapon in a Crime
If these charges are all being used to punish the same single act, adding all of them together would be considered stacking.
✅ Correct:
Charge the offense(s) that actually apply to the conduct, rather than adding overlapping charges solely to increase the sentence.
🔴 Remember
One incident does NOT mean unlimited charges.
If separate criminal acts occurred during the same incident, those acts may be charged separately.
Officers should use reasonable judgment and ensure every charge is supported by a distinct offense.
📈 POPULATION-BASED SENTENCING
The current maximum sentence is 60 months.
As the server population increases, the maximum jail-time limit will gradually increase as well, eventually reaching a maximum of 120 months.
This allows sentencing limits to scale with the population of the city while keeping punishments reasonable as the server grows.
MAX SENTENCE: 60 MONTHS → UP TO 120 MONTHS AS POPULATION INCREASES
MAX FINE: UNLIMITED
STACKING CHARGES: ❌ PROHIBITED
